On Monday 17 October, Western Cape Premier Helen Zille, Western Cape Minister for Cultural Affairs and Sport Anroux Marais, and City of Cape Town Executive Mayor Patricia de Lille will honour 60 Olympians and Paralympians in the Cape Town Central City.

Says Tasso Evangelinos, CEO of the Cape Town Central City Improvement District: “Sporting events have a wonderful way of uniting people and we’re very happy that this is taking place in the Cape Town CBD. The City is really rolling out the red carpet for some of South Africa's ultimate sporting heroes and we encourage all our stakeholders to join in as we cheer them through our streets.”

The details are as follows:

12h00 – 12h45: Grand Parade
Residents can gather on the Grand Parade, where Premier Zille and Mayor De Lille will address them. They will also have an opportunity to see the Olympians and Paralympians board the bus to embark on the victory procession.

The Olympic bus will proceed through the CBD – Darling Street, Adderley Street, Wale Street, Loop Street – and to the Green Point Athletics Track.
