Inspiring art for all

Inspiring art for all

14 February 2017

The Institute for Creative Arts (ICA) will stage its third Live Art Festival until 26 February. The Cape Town-based biennale brings together art, dance, theatre, music and literature, and promotes African performance artists. All artworks are free, but booking is essential as there are limits on space. A range of performers have already been disrupting public spaces and other venues across the CBD since the 10th. Don’t miss out on the rest, as there are no repeats!

The 2017 programme consists of 34 projects, including works by Standard Bank Young Artist Award winners Donna Kukama and Anthea Moys, acclaimed choreographer and performer Mamela Nyamza, and pioneering performance artist Steven Cohen.

Venues and locations are:

  • 6 Spin St
  • The Arena Theatre, Arena Quad, Hiddingh Hall, Little Theatre and P4 Studio at Hiddingh Campus (31 Orange St)
  • The Artscape Piazza (cnr DF Malan Street and Hertzog Boulevard)
  • The Castle of Good Hope
  • Church Square
  • Government Avenue and the Iziko South African National Gallery
  • Open House (cnr Long and Dorp streets)
  • Youngblood Arts and Culture Development (70-72 Bree St)
